MSC applies new prices from Far East to Europe

Swiss/Italian container carrier MSC will implement the following new Freight All Kind (FAK) rates from Asia to Europe.

Effective as from 1 May but not beyond 14 May from all Asian ports (including Japan, Korea & Southeast Asia) to North Europe, the new rates will be as follows:

BICT offers connectivity to North Africa and Spain through MSC vessels

Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT), a business unit of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. MSC-operated ship captured by Iranian forces

MSC told Container News that it is working to secure the release of one of its operated ships that was seized by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Persian Gulf on 13 April.

The 2020-built 15,000 TEU MSC Aries, which the Swiss/Italian liner operator had bareboat-chartered from UK-based Zodiac Maritime for 10 years, was boarded by “Iranian authorities” via helicopter around 2.43 am local time. The ship has been diverted towards Iran.

Dali owners declare General Average

Grace Ocean, the owner of the container ship that knocked down the Baltimore bridge in May, has declared a General Average (GA) on the containers on board.

The company believes the salvage operations will lead to extraordinary costs for which they expect contributions from all salvaged parties under the General Average. At the time of writing, there is no indication as to when and where Dali will be berthed and unloaded.
