Finnlines takes delivery of first hybrid Ro-Ro vessel

Shipping operator Finnlines has taken delivery of the first hybrid roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessel, called Finneco I, in the company’s €500m Newbuilding Programme.

The programme was launched for the construction of three hybrid Ro-Ro vessels, as well as two hybrid Ro-Pax vessels.

The first of three Ro-Ro vessels in the Eco class, Finneco I was constructed at the China Merchants Jinling Shipyard.

The hybrid Ro-Ro vessel will operate in the Baltic Sea, North Sea and Biscay traffic from June.

Yang Ming takes delivery of container vessel YM Trophy

Taiwanese container shipping firm Yang Ming Marine Transport has taken delivery of a new container vessel, called YM Trophy.

The 11,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container vessel, which is chartered from Shoei Kisen Kaisha, was constructed by Imabari Shipbuilding.

GSI launches sea trial of Chinese-built methanol-driven vessel

Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) has commenced sea trials of the first Chinese-built methanol-driven dual-fuel tanker, called Stena Pro Patria.

GSI secured a contract from Proman Stena Bulk, a joint venture of Swedish firm Stena Bulk and Swiss firm Proman, for the construction of three 49,990 DWT dual-fuel tankers.
