A fire broke out onboard a Panama-flagged tanker within Singapore waters, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a statement on Thursday, reports Reuters.

What happened?

On Nov 7, fire erupted on board of 8,900 dwt product tanker “HOYU” near Horsburgh Lighthouse, eastern Singapore Strait. 

Shipping data showed that the tanker was fully laden with an unspecified oil cargo and was en route from Singapore to the Philippines. 

No damage or injury reported
