NMDC to take delivery of new dredger

Dutch shipyard Royal IHC has launched the new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), Ghasha, for Abu Dhabi’s National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC). The design of the new vessel is based on that of the 6,000m3 Ariana, which was also delivered to NMDC by IHC in 2018. However, it features a number of notable differences, including an enlarged hopper capacity of 8,000m3 and a larger dredging depth of 45m.
