Fire erupted in superstructure of product tanker GRETE THERESA docked ay Noumea, New Caledonia, South Pacific, early in the morning Nov 17. City firefighters extinguished fire in about 7 hours, firefighting was complicated by thick smoke and toxic gases. Nobody was injured, no leak reported. Abandoned tanker is docked at Noumea for already 10 years, according to local media, and at least 6 years according to AIS records.
