La OMI ha acordado avanzar en la prohibición de transportar fueloil con un contenido de azufre que no cumpla con el límite de 2020 para su uso a bordo de los buques. El objetivo del nuevo límite es reducir las emisiones de óxidos de azufre procedentes de los buques para mejorar la calidad del aire y proteger el medio ambiente.
